Podere Campriano: the Etruscans were right!
No: the Podere Campriano estate is not that
old, but the root of the name goes back to the Etruscans, the local Tuscan ethnicity later conquered by Rome, and it defines a fertile hill.
And the Podere Campriano area, in the Greve in Chianti municipality - 28km / 17.4mi from Enoteca Alessi, Florence - is fertile indeed!
exists since since the early XX Century. It is owned by the Lapini family since 1930. It was refurbished in 1979, but it is in 1999 that the philosophy of the production has a pivotal change.
Until then the Podere had been using the promiscuo
cultivation, a mix of vines and olive trees; then the two productions have been separated, in order to produce Chianti Classico D.O.C.G, Chianti Classico Riserva and I.G.T..
A Supertuscan was born…
The next step was between 2005 and 2007, when another renovation brings to the opening of the agriturismo
activity, which give people the chance to experience the so told Chiantishire
at its best, with Bed & Breakfast facilities, swimming pool and even a small library!
