Antinori Week: not only at Alessi (between wine and culture in Florence)

Florence is a very special place for the Antinori family, as the family's history started in Florence indeed, with Niccolò di Tommaso Antinori (1454-1520). Niccolò commissioned Giovanni della Robbia a beautiful glazed terracotta lunette to Giovanni della Robbia: La Resurrezione - The Resurrection  (Niccolò was a "character" in the artwork as well, in a corner to the right of Christ). The beautiful terracotta is usually in the USA. The artwork restoration in 2016 at the Brooklyn Museum has been funded by the current marchese Antinori, a descendant of Niccolò, as the temporary return to Italy.

Villa Antinori Riserva 2013: main features

Villa Antinori Riserva 2013 is a Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva; grapes: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet.

Appearance, olfactory and tasting notes

Red ruby colour with light grenade reflections; berries notes pairing the cinnamon and coffee ones, with a soft tobacco fragrance. On the palate it is harmonious, embracing with its silky tannin; long lasting persistent aftertaste which recalls the boisé and fruity olfactory notes.
